Kia Sonet World Premiere
Kia Sonet first seen in the Kia stand at the Auto Expo 2020 will be unveiled on 7th August 2020 through online streaming technology and will launch in September 2020. #Kiasonet is the second car to join the sub-4m SUV segment league followed by Nissan Magnite that we have heard about this month.
Sonet with a 5-seater layout will be having the BS6 engine from Hyundai Venue 1.2-litre & 1.0-litre turbo-petrol. While the BS6 1.5-litre diesel engine that we see in the SELTOS SUV will be used in the diesel variant of the Sonet. The Automatic Sonet will be having 7-speed DCT with the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine.
The trims for this car will use the same Tech Line and GT Line trims as seen on the Kia Seltos. Sonet price is expected to within INR 7,00,000 – INR 12,00,000.
Latest spy shots of Kia Sonet has revealed that the interiors are going to be a close Look-A-Like of the Seltos. While the teaser for Sonet shows connected tail-lamps.
Kia Sonet that will be having a global unveiling on August 7th will be made in India and exported globally. In the Indian market the car joins the competitions against Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and upcoming Renault Kiger (HBC), Toyota Urban Cruiser, and Nissan Magnite.
While the IRDAI is working to implement new rules in August 2020 onwards to make car buying easier by reducing the on road pricing and looking at the pricing strategy that MG succeeded with on the MG Hector Plus (though the Hector Plus is not in competition with Sonet but mentioned as ann example for an overview of how cars will be getting cheaper mostly), seems Kia Sonet will be breaking its elder sibling Kia Seltos record with ease.
