The latest launch by Mahindra was on October 2, where they revealed the price of the second-generation Mahindra Thar 2020, two months after its official unveiling on August 15. It was announced that the car would retail for as low as Rs. 9.80 lakh and a high of Rs. 13.75 lakh depending on the variant.

If you love to ride in style, then Mahindra Thar 2020 is the right sub-4m SUV to own. The car has a sophisticated design with a boxy shape, similar to its predecessor, but slightly bigger. The vehicle comes in two variants: the AX series and the LX series. The AX variant is made for those that love adventure travel. It is designed with fewer equipment, has 16-inch wheels made from steel, and is perfect for off-road travel. The LX, on the other hand, is a lifestyle version with more features, and has 18-inch alloy wheels ideal for the road, making it the family-friendly version.

The car features a 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre petrol engines across its variants. Besides, there’s the 4×4 powertrain standard SUV that comes with the 6-speed automatic and manual transmission options.

Originally known for its off-road characteristics, the new model has changed the trend and is leaning towards a classy lifestyle vehicle. Thar 2020 looks attractive and oozes style, thanks to its latest features, including the LED DRLS on the front guard, plastic cladding, a stylish Thar badge well positioned at the centre, and the fog lamps at the bumper, among other features.

When it comes to safety, Mahindra Thar 2020 has gone a step further to include unique safety features like a seat belt reminder, hill-hold control, over-speed warning, speed-sensing door locks, and many more.

Currently, the Mahindra Thar 2020 doesn’t have a worthy competitor in its segment within the Indian market. The only rival is BS6 Gurkha, which is still a lesser known brand compared to Thar 2020.
