The launch of the S-Cross Petrol has been delayed due to the COVID-19 situation that we all are fighting. It is read that the S-Cross Petrol will be having 4 variants and will also have the SHVS tech. This will certainly raise the bar in competition such as Renault Duster, Nissan Kicks, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

The only problem remains that it will be the 4 speed torque converter that feels very dated. It’s high time Maruti Suzuki got a new gearbox to mate with the otherwise smooth and efficient 1.5 litre petrol engine. Pricing will be the key here, as expected Maruti Suzuki will price it aggressively. The S-Cross was earlier only available with the Fiat sourced 1.3 litre Diesel engine, but was the true crossover and not a wannabe SUV. It did get a face lift which enhanced its looks and made it look Beefier with the bigger grill, however we need to see if Maruti Suzuki will be refreshing it’s interiors or otherwise. Keep watching this space for details on the date of launch and pricing.
