Force Gurkha 2020 was unveiled during the Auto Expo 2020, and it was scheduled to be launched by Diwali 2020. The idea was to launch this hardcore SUV around the same time as Mahindra Thar 2020 in order to give it a direct competition. However, its launch date was delayed to December 2020 or January 2021 due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
Images shared during the unveiling shows that Force Gurkha 2020 maintains the original classy boxy shape. On the front, it has steel bumpers, a single slat radiator grille, modern LED DRLs, and the headlamps are round shaped. Additionally, it features wheels with flared arches ideal for mud surfaces and side cladding making it perfect for off-road use. These external features make it an appealing SUV for people who love classy cars.
On the inside, the BS6 Force Gurkha does not disappoint. It has many interesting features, including an instrument panel, power window, touchscreen, and AC. Safety features are also in plenty. Some of them include ABS, dual front airbags, as well as reverse parking sensors.
This 5-seater capacity car is powered by a 2.6-litre diesel engine that can generate up to 89bhp of power and 260Nm peak torque. However, unlike its competitors, the SUV only comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. To demonstrate its reputation as a powerful off-roader, the Force Gurkha 2020 comes with a 4X4 system. What makes it interesting is that users have an option of three drivetrain modes, which are 4X4 Low, 4X4 High and 4X2 High.
While the prices for the Force Gurkha 2020 are not officially out, we should expect it to cost higher than the BS4 version because it is an upgrade of BS4 in so many ways. Once launched, we’re excited to see how this hardcore SUV will fare against its main rival Thar 2020.
