Recently launched SUV Creta is now the top selling cars of India with 3212 units sold. In may there was a partial resumption of factories and Indian carmakers start their sell in the month of May because April was a month of full lockdown. India’s largest vehicle manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car manufacturer continue to dominate with Ertiga, Dzire, Swift, Baleno, Eeco and Alto by holding only five positions in elite list, earlier it was seven. Rest of the slots were occupied by others whereas the top position is grabbed by South Korean Hyundai Motors India limited. According to market experts, this increase in the sale is temporary phase and will not show transparency of market.

Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai dominates the India’s passenger car market. And Maruti Suzuki has the leading share, at about 51 percent, in passenger car market. Due to new emission standards and coronavirus the industry suffered a drop of 17% when compared with last fiscal year
First time in the history, out of top sold 10 products 5 are utility vehicles which suppressed the theory that small cars will be sold more.
Second position in the category of most sold cars is occupied by MPV Ertiga of Maruti Suzuki which sold 2353 units. New entry in the list is of recent launched Altroz by Tata Motors.

What makes this Hyundai Creta top selling car?
The previous model of this car wasn’t eye catching but in the new one 2020 Hyundai Creta there is a polarizing design and three engine options: 1.5 litre petrol, 1.5 litre diesel and 1.5 litre turbo petrol. The latter one gets a seven speed DCT gearbox as well with segment-first paddle shifters. Price range of this car is starting at 9.99 lakh.
